Description
Up for sale is a fully CLAed (Cleaned/Lubed Adjusted) KODAK EKTAR 100mm f/3.5 lens in Supermatic shutter. This lens is the one that made Kodak's Medalist 620 Medium Format camera famous for its exceptional image quality. This example was pulled from a broken Medalist 1 body, completely disassembled, and given a full optical cleaning and shutter clea/service/relube (CLA). As such, it has a number of potential uses. It includes its original mounting rings and shutter linkage and so can be dropped right as a replacement into a medalist body with a nonworking shutter or bad lenses. Alternatively, it can be adapted to a number of different film and digital, with full coverage up to "baby" 2"x3" large format. When used in lens board applications, the shutter requires a board with a 1.5" (38mm) hole, or with appropriate adapters/tubes can be used on medium format digital such as the Fuji GFX series. Note that if you do want to use it adapted, the cocking and trigger switches are inset on the back, so if you plan on using the internal shutter rather than your camera's focal plane shutter, you may want to remove the existing camera linkage and fabricate extended switches to make it a bit easier to use. Lens/Shutter are in clean vintage condition with moderate wear. Lens coatings have some marks, including the interior surfaces, including a few spots of coating loss from a minor previous fungal infection that's been neutralized. Glass is free of deep scratches/haze/or fungus. All mechanical functions are serviced and working well with shutter speeds within spec and accurate aperture values. Includes original front cap.
