Description

Schneider G-Claron 240mm f9 lens in a Copal #1 shutter. This lens is extremely versatile. G-Claron lenses were originally designed for close-focus work and reproduction, it has become a favorite in general photography owing to its very compact design. Small and light, it is great on field cameras. It makes for a nice general use or portrait lens on 4x5 or even 5x7 and can nominally cover 8x10 at infinity with perhaps a bit of fall off. However, as you get closer and increase bellows, coverage increases quite a bit and it can cover up to 14x17 at 1:1. This particular lens is in really excellent shape with a few very minor marks. The glass is in great shape and shutter fires nicely throughout the range of speeds. Lugging a camera and holders into the field is work enough.
