Kodak Portrait Lens 16" f4.5 Coated. Made by Eastman Kodak Co. Made in Rochester, USA ca. 1950s. For large format photography. This is a soft focus lens which is soft wide open and gets sharper when stopped down. As a coated lens to will shot well on both color and black and white. Kodak's term for this was Luminized, as is indicated on the lens by "L" in a circle.The formula is an achromat, cemented pair of two single elements. Great 81x10 portrait lens but will cover much more, especially 11x14. It's mounted on a 9" square board with a large working Packard shutter 7 1/2" square, 4" hole diameter w/ flash sync. The flash sync wiring might work but I suggest rewiring with fresh wire and sync attachment of your choice. The rubber hose needs replacement. There's lots of information about this lens on the internet with examples. Just do a Google search. • Lens is in beautiful condition with very clean glass, no haze, separation, fungus or cleaning marks. The 9" square board will fit an 8x10 Kodak, Century, Agfa Ansco or any studio camera that has an 9" sq. opening. Packard shutter works but needs new rubber hose and a bulb. The flash sync will need to be rewired for modern connection like pocket wizard. Comes with the original lens cap. • Bid or Purchase with confidence.
