This matched pair of lamps seems to give a nod to the Federal-meets-Deco designs of the WPA and other groups in the 1930's. The stepped bases are absolutely Art Deco as are the white glass stepped shades. The American or possibly French Colonial officer is molded out of metal of some type. The pair of lamps are heavy and have been completely rewired and work very well. Looks great when lit (will need a small Christmas tree bulb for each). Stands 14" tall each, including shades.
