BOLEX Kern Vario-Switar 18-86mm OE LENS, F2.5, C-mount Up for sale is a excellent condition lightly used Bolex zoom lens, it was the first to incorporate through the lens metering and directly connected to automatic diaphragm operation through a range of ASA settings, as well as compensating for the 16REX shutter blade control. Bolex Kern Paillard Vario Switar 18mm to 86mm OE zoom lens for H16 cameras. 1886 – OE lens for H 16 cameras C mount lens. This was Bolex's first lens with through the lens, electronic metering and diaphragm controlled lens. Lens is in excellent condition and the metering works properly. The meter test photos of my finger on and off the battery test button shows the needle in various positions. I also tested lens with various light sources and the meter responded correctly. Comes with the original instruction manual and the front and rear caps. Lens is smooth, operates easily lens has no scratches, dings, fungus, separation or other defects and was lightly used and battery replaced as needed so no battery damage from laying around for years unused. I have taken the liberty to include a recent sale of this lens as "new old stock" which sold for $1499. I have a low opening bid. Also note the 2 ebay sales of the 18-86 EE lens which is the same lens BUT was the earlier version and was NOT through the lens metering, which the OE lens has !
