Description

Here's another wonderful example of a late 19th century shutter from the estate of Ernst Purdum, who collected and researched shutters for over 60 years starting in 1940s. This shutter is like nothing else I saw in his collection and I do wonder who made it. It might be an extremely early Packard model or a prototype, as it seems to function very similarly and the piston chamber also looks almost the same. This shutter is not working though - the metal blades can be opened and closed manually, but some pin inside must be broken, because both blades are basically loose in there. Should be an easy repair, and if wood and paint are restored it would look really cool. Shutter measures 6in across, with lens opening that is just a little smaller than 2.5in. Feel free to ask question if you have them. I’m a photographer myself, and have been buying and selling equipment on here for over 20 years now. I always do my best to describe the items as accurately as I can. Take a close look at the pictures, I try to show all possible flaws there, and so in real life my items look better than on here. I'm putting higher prices on International Shipping, because I never know how much exactly it will cost to ship the items. Once I ship your item, if you overpaid for shipping by more than $10 or so, I'll immediately send you refund on shipping cost. Of course I also combine shipping, and refund the extra shipping cost on that as well. Good luck bidding.
